I found this on my friend Danny's myspace and thought it was a funny/interesting way to look at life and existence.

I think it's appropriate to make my first real blog about exactly what the name of this blog means. Serpent offering is in reference to the original sin, fall from grace, fall of man, etc from the bible in the book of genesis. According to the book of genesis, Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat from the tree of knowledge. One day however, a serpent tempted Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge, and after doing so they were aware of their nakedness and so began the fall of man. From that day on it was said that the original sin is passed down to every descendant (according to the bible we all are descendants of Adam and Eve) and is the fall of man (beginning of sin). Essentially the serpent provided knowledge, and this knowledge is the original sin. Whether you believe in the garden, Adam and Eve and creation, I think it's fair to say that knowledge is what we strive for and cherish as human beings. I don't know if the writers of the book of geneses intended to write the fall of man as showing that knowledge is evil and a sin, but I believe that if you use your mind, rational thought and plain ol common sense its easy to see the fallacies of Christianity and religion.
The serpent was not originally viewed as being satan or evil, it was just portrayed as being cunning and a trickster. After the fall of man, it was banished from the garden of eden, so there on the serpent has had the bad rep it has now haha.
So this is my serpent offering. Not evil, just an offer of knowledge and entertainment. My thoughts on basically everything and some random shit that amuses me haha.

In the begining

I've written in blogs on myspace from time to time and I always have thoughts and ideas going through my head but haven't dedicated much time to actually write them down, so I'm finally actually making a blog. I'll probably post lyrics, interesting videos, rants and other random things that go through my head. So keep checking back and I'm sure I'll have something interesting for you this week.
